OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – We’re learning more about the man hit and killed by a train last weekend in Oshkosh.
Police say 20-year-old Sawyer J. Zeinert was biking north on the east sidewalk of Fond du Lac Road around 10:30 p.m. Friday. The bike hit the edge of the concrete wall of a small bridge on S. Main Street (Highway 45) throwing Zeinert off the bike.
Authorities believe he was injured and became disoriented. The train hit Zeinert on tracks a few hundred feet south of Fond du Lac Road.
Investigators are still looking for anyone who may have seen a person who looked to be disoriented in the area of Fond du Lac Road and W. 24th Avenue late Friday night. Anyone with information is asked to call Oshkosh police at (920) 236-5700.
