NEENAH, WI (WTAQ) – ThedaCare is announcing a name change for a 100-year-old Fox Valley hospital.
Officials say beginning Wednesday Theda Clark Medical Center will be known as ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah.
The change is part of a company-wide branding change announced last year.
Appleton Medical Center, which is also owned by ThedaCare, will change its name to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Appleton next month, the company says.
Similar name changes are also planned for hospitals in Berlin and Wild Rose in 2016, while hospitals from Shawano to Chilton have already changed their names.
“The name ThedaCare already is on our clinics, most of our hospitals, home health, behavioral health and other facilities,” Senior Vice President of ThedaCare Medical Centers Brian Burmeister said in a news release. “Our name not only provides more clarity for our patients and employees about our facilities, but reflects our century-long commitment to delivering care with compassion and empathy.
The Neenah hospital opened in 1909 as Theda Clark Memorial Hospital. It was named for Theda Clark Peters, who died in 1903 from complications of childbirth.
