De Pere, WI (WTAQ) – No one was hurt in a fire at an apartment building in De Pere Monday night.
Firefighters were dispatched to the Charleston Pointe Apartments on East River Drive around 10:45 p.m. for a fire on a second floor balcony.
By the time firefighters arrived, a police officer had already used an extinguisher to put out most of the fire. Crews then removed some carpeting and debris.
The fire caused between $3,000-$5,000 in damage.
Fire officials say they believe they know what caused the fire, but want to speak with the landlord and the occupant before releasing that information.
