UNDATED (WTAQ) – How long has it been since you cleaned out your medicine cabinet?
Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday and Brown County Sheriff’s Lt. Scott Semb says it’s a chance for residents to throw away any old or unused prescription medications safely.
“First and foremost, it’s the proper way to get rid of any medication you might have and also any abuse, it will help that also.”
Semb says there will be several drop off locations in the area.
“In Brown County we have four spots; the Suamico Municipal Center, the Allouez Village Hall, Bellevue Village Hall, and Denmark Village Hall.”
The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Officers will be on hand at the 4 locations.
The effort will continue to bring focus to the issue of prescription opiate abuse. It will also provide people with a safe means of disposal, while highlighting the possibility of abuse along with the results of improper storage and removal of medications.
