MARKESAN, WI (WTAQ) – The 34-year-old Markesan sex offender who refereed youth sports and phoned in bomb threats after his ref license was suspended has moved into a residence in rural Markesan.
Last August a Dodge County judge sentenced Aaron Schreiber to prison, but today (Tuesday) Schreiber moved into a residence at N2004 Old Highway A.
Green Lake County Chief Deputy Sheriff Mark Putzke says his department and Markesan Police are aware of Schreiber’s history.
“so if we became aware of a community violation we would act on that, involve the Department of Corrections and there would be a sanction of some sort”
Putzke says Markesan is Schreiber’s home community and they know him uniquely so there will be a lot of eyes on him.
“our intent is just to make the community aware, so if anything should happen or come about we’re prepared to deal with that. remember the community is our eyes and ears”
Putzke says there was a community notification meeting at the Markesan City Hall Monday night.
“we try and make these things informative and accurate and provide benefit to the community where the offender is released in” Schreiber will be on electronic monitoring.
