FOX CROSSING, WI (WTAQ) – Police are urging people to check their cars if you live in the area of the former Valley Fair Mall or on the south side of Appleton.
Fox Crossing police say they were called to a neighborhood near the former mall early Monday morning. A person who lives nearby said two men appeared to be looking into cars in parking lots.
Officers spoke with the men and said their stories didn’t make much sense. The men also had a backpack full of electronics and other items. Police say it looked like the men were targeting unlocked vehicles.
One of the men was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Investigators say they’ve connected the men to a theft in Fox Crossing and another in Appleton so far. Police also have some property they say does not appear to belong to the men.
Those in the area who are missing something from their vehicle are asked to call Officer Swenson at (920) 720-7109 to see if police have it.
