SHAWANO, WI (WTAQ) -The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has started a 15-day public comment period before they decide to take any action with the low water levels in Shawano Lake.
The decision was made after multiple requests were made by city, county and state officials to raise the water to prevent boat damage and injury.
The plan would be to raise the lake water level by about four inches.
City officials are worried that keeping the water levels where they are will affect tourism for the Fourth of July weekend.
