KIEL, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Kiel officials say while they were taking precautionary measures in response to a threat received earlier this week, they received another email, this time referencing locations in New Holstein.
The email, which was received just after 10:30 a.m. Friday, referenced the Kiel School District’s Title IX Investigation. Police say there was no threat made, but the email listed several government buildings, private businesses and other infrastructure locations in New Holstein.
As a cautionary measure, search teams were sent to affected areas on New Holstein.
Earlier this week, Kiel received its sixth threat on Wednesday, indicating that if the school district did not drop its Title IX investigation by Friday, multiple areas in the city would be targeted.
On Thursday, the school district dropped its Title IX investigation but authorities say they will continue to investigate those responsible for the threats.
Out of an abundance of caution, Kiel’s Emergency Management Team was out in the community Friday morning searching targeted areas and no items of concern were found.
