GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – On Thursday, Green Bay Police responded to a local business on the east side of the city for a report of a suspicious male.
The initial complaint was the male was looking under the bathroom stalls in the women’s restroom.
Green Bay Police Captain Kevin Warych says officers learned more upon their arrival.
“What officers learned when they arrived is that a 13-year-old female walked into the restroom and the male followed her.”
Warych said that a bystander helped the situation.
“She pushed the suspect out of the bathroom and turned him over the manager.
Warych says the management kept the male in the business until police arrived.
“Without their efforts of getting the man to stay, we would have had a more difficult time in tracking the suspect.”
Police identified the man as 60-year-old Richard Schwantes, and took him into custody.
Schwantes is in custody at the Brown County Jail and we are recommending charges to the Brown County District Attorney Office of Child Enticement,-felony, Disorderly conduct, and Bail Jumping.
