GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — The Brown County Crime Prevention Foundation is seeking applicants for their annual Crime Prevention Grant.
The roughly $26,000 grant is designed to help non-profit organizations, neighborhood groups, government agencies, and school districts secure funding for crime prevention efforts in their area.
Green Bay Police Commander Kevin Warych is on the board and says they look for programs aimed at tackling the “triangle of crime”.
“Which is: the suspect, the crime, and the opportunity. We want to remove one side of the triangle so that the crime doesn’t occur,” Warych told WTAQ.
Previous grants have gone to afterschool outreach programs, programs designed to combat relationship abuse, and even a neighborhood group that purchased a number of Ring Doorbell cameras.
You can apply for grants on the Brown County Crime Prevention Foundation and Greater Green Bay Community Foundation websites. The deadline is June 30th.
