APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – An Appleton man has been arrested for creating a bogus armed robbery report.
The man works at an Appleton business and told police that a man with a handgun came into the store and demanded money from the cash register.
Appleton police reviewed the surveillance footage from the store and saw that no attempted robbery ever took place.
At this point, the man admitted to police that he created the phony story.
An obstructing charge is being requested against the 23-year-old man.
