GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Three people have been displaced by a Monday morning duplex fire in Green Bay.
Firefighters were called to 2582 Wildflower Row at 10:13 am for reports of smoke and charring of windows.
Upon arrival, crews found fire in the living room of a one-story duplex.
They were met with heavy smoke and high heat but knocked the blaze down within minutes.
The occupant of the second half of the duplex had already evacuated and told firefighters there was likely nobody home in the affected half.
Extensive damage was sustained on the side where the fire originated.
The other occupant was able to return home after smoke was vented out of their half of the building.
Officials say the fire’s cause and origin have not been determined.
While no injuries have been reported, damage is estimated at $50,000.
The Red Cross is aiding those displaced.
