GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Police say they arrested a 30-year-old woman at a Grand Chute home Saturday evening after a hit-and-run crash earlier.
At around 6 p.m., officers say they responded to the underpass at Interstate 41 and Lynndale Drive, for a report of a hit-and-run.
They say a witness reported the driver of the vehicle which hit the other vehicle ran away after it came to a stop.
Officers say no one was injured, but the crash caused an extended closure of the highway during the investigation.
Shortly after the crash, Grand Chute police also responded to a home in the 3900 block of Foxglove Lane, where a resident reported an unknown person entering their home.
Officers entered, and found the woman hiding in the house, before arresting her.
They determined she was the driver of the hit-and-run vehicle.
Officers took her to the Outagamie County Jail for burglary, narcotic drug possession, prescription drug possession without a valid prescription, drug paraphernalia possession, felony bail jumping, and a probation hold, along with criminal citations for hit-and-run and operating while revocation.
