GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Di’Anthony Rowe was convicted Friday for a sexual assault in downtown Green Bay, where he reached his hand down a woman’s pants and grabbed her.
Rowe, 20, pleaded no contest to second-degree sexual assault for the Oct. 1 incident at an apartment building in the 100 block of E. Walnut Street. Sentencing is set for July 29, court records show.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim said she was talking with Rowe when he reached into her pants and grabbed her. She then punched him, and he ran off.
Rowe told police he was reaching for her wallet to rob her — even though surveillance video shows her wearing a purse and he never attempts to grab the purse, the complaint states.
The plea deal avoids a trial scheduled to start Tuesday.
