FOX CROSSING, WI (WTAQ) – Police are looking for the person who robbed a Fox Crossing convenience store early Monday.
Fox Crossing Officer Jason Weber says police responded to a report of a robbery at the PDQ at 1065 Racine Road at 1:16 am.
“(The man) had come into the store, kept his hands in his pocket, and asked for money. He did not show any signs of a weapon or any indication that he had a weapon. Upon viewing the video, we were unable to see anything as well.”
Weber says the clerk was able to provide officers with a description, which matches surveillance images.
“A white man, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, some sort of glasses, and a red bandana covering his face.”
Weber says the suspect was given the small amount of cash that was in the register and fled in an unknown direction, with a Kaukauna Police K9 unit responding to aid Fox Crossing and Menasha officers in the search.
“The K9 unit was able to pick up a track for some distance but then lost any indication of the track several blocks away.”
Weber believes this was an isolated incident and does not believe there is any threat to the public.
“We, in the village, have not had a robbery since last year when that rash of robberies was going on in the Fox Valley.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Fox Crossing Police at 920-720-7109 or the Winnebago County Crime Stoppers at 920-231-8477. People can also text ‘IGOTYA’ and the crime to 274637 or go to winnebagocrimestoppers.org.
