OUTAGAMIE COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – Two motorcycles collide in Outagamie County, the drivers are dead and a passenger injured.
The crash happened around 1:30 this morning in the area of County Highway O and Quarry Road, near the Town of Center.
The operator of the first motorcycle, a 27 year old man from Kaukauna, was traveling west on County Highway O and was negotiating a curve on the road where it begins a westbound direction.
While negotiating this curve the motorcycle collided with the second motorcycle.
The second motorcycle was operated by a 29 year old man from Little Chute and had a passenger, a 22 year old woman from Oneida.
The second motorcycle was eastbound on County Highway O approaching the curve to head northbound.
Both the 27 year old man from Kaukauna and the 29 year old man from Little Chute died as a result of their injuries.
The 22 year old woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries. Her condition is not yet known.
Sheriff’s Sergeant Nate Borman says “we don’t yet have any information regarding alcohol use, although the investigation is ongoing. It would appear that one of the motorcycles likely crossed the center line, causing the crash. Also, speed may have been a factor.”
All three subjects were wearing helmets.
Borman encourages operates of any vehicle to be careful when on the roads, especially at night.
“This year we’ve experienced a great increase in fatalities in Outagamie County. We’re trying to figure out why this is happening.”
The sheriff’s office did not immediately provide fatal crash statistics.
The investigation is continuing.
