OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – The suspect involved in a standoff and police officer-involved shooting will stand trial later this summer.
46-year-old Brian Flatoff is charged with 16 counts in connection with the incident at Eagle Nation Cycles in Neenah last December.
During the standoff, Michael Funk, who was a hostage, ran out the back door and was shot and killed by police.
Wisconsin’s attorney general ruled the officers were justified in their use of deadly force, so no criminal charges will be filed against them.
At a Monday hearing in Winnebago County Circuit Court, Flatoff’s attorney said they were not ready to enter a plea.
A two-week jury trial was set for August 22.
Deputy district attorney Scott Ceman says the state has a 28-person witness list it is working on for trial.
