GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Runners and walkers are gearing up for the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon this weekend.
Many participants will be attending the Prevea Health and Fitness Expo starting Friday inside the Lambeau Field Atrium.
Mike LaMere is the CPR Coordinator for Prevea Health and says Hands-Only CPR will be demonstrated every half hour at the exhibition.
“Every second counts, so really teaching the runners how to do this…if they can initiate compressions and start getting treatment done right away, their chance of survival goes way up.”
LeMere says research shows that compressions are the most important part of CPR.
“We’ve also learned that people are more confident and more comfortable just doing compressions.”
Hands-Only CPR has two steps; call 9-1-1 and chest compressions.
The expo is Friday from 3-7pm and Saturday 10am to 7pm.
