GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – It might be May, but Thursday night all eyes were focused on September football at Lambeau Field, as the Packers schedule was released.
Stadium View Manager Kelly Hewitt says the bar is always busy, but it’s busier when the Packers are at Lambeau.
“Nothing like a Packer home game weekend.”
With the schedule now official, it offers bars like Stadium View around Lambeau to get to their next step in planning for football season.
“We’ll be able to book all of our entertainment,” Hewitt said. “Plan for all the extra days, we have lots of extra staff for gameday weekends.”
Fan David Werluy hopes with three of the final four games being played here at home, the cold helps the Packers.
With another game on Christmas day, but this one in Miami, Werluy thinks Packer fans will welcome it.
“I love Christmas Day games, great for family times,” said Werluy. “I think the ratings are really good too, which is good for the league. It’s good for the community.”
But sometimes, the extreme cold isn’t great news for everyone.
“I like the warmer games better because we have more room when we’re outside you know,” said Hewitt. “You have the entire parking lot that we get to utilize so I like the games better. If it drops into the negative temperatures, we don’t do a whole lot outside.”
The Pack will start the season at Minnesota, and ring in the new year hosting the Vikings at Lambeau.
But as for the first game of the season, Werluy doesn’t think the team will be the only ones traveling.
“I’m gonna go. I love the Twin Cities, the rivalry, I’m looking for a big Packer W.”
