OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) — Oshkosh Police will observe Peace Officer’s Memorial Day next week, as part of National Police week.
Peace Officer’s Memorial Day is on Sunday. A ceremony is being held Monday at the department’s safety building.
They’ll be memorializing the three Oshkosh police officers killed in the history of the department.
“These individuals were killed in the line of duty in 1890, 1922, and 1939,” said Officer Kate Mann. “And during the ceremony, we’ll be reading off their names.”
Their names will be read among the names of every police officer in the country killed this year.
The ceremony starts at 2:30.
