GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – It’s National Safe Boating week and with a busy Memorial Day holiday wekeend approaching, officals are getting the word out about safe boating on the Fox River.
This as the Fox River Cleanup Project is in its 8th year of trying to reduce the risk to human health and the environment due to the presence of harmful PCB’s in the river sediment.
The project uses several specialized barges and pipelines in its dredging, capping and sand covering operations.
Authorities are urging boaters use caution and heed the markers and buoys that mark the cleanup equipment.
