ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) – Emergency crews were called to the SuperValu warehouse on Joannes Avenue in Ashwaubenon Sunday because of a fire a little after noon.
Officials say when they arrived, they saw smoke coming out of the building.
Inside, a piece of mechanical equipment was on fire.
Crews put the flames out and the gas and electricity was cut off from the building.
Firefighters say they did not come across any chemicals inside the facility, which appeared to be a truck wash area.
Ashwaubenon Public Safety Chief Eric Dunning says an investigation is underway as to how the fire started.
“They’re working today, so we’re interviewing the workers to see if this piece of machinery is used at all today and when it was last used, and so forth. And then, of course, we’ll have to make contact with maintenance people here at SuperValu, to see the working order of the equipment that was involved here”
Officials say no one was hurt in the fire.
