WEST ALLIS, WI (WTAQ) – Plan on spending a little longer in line to get into the Wisconsin State Fair and Summerfest.
Metal detectors are being added for extra security for the first time for both events.
Officials say the extra effort might slow things down at the entry gate, but it’s being down as a security enhancement.
Additional cameras also will be added throughout the fairgrounds, allowing security to have more than 200 vantage points during the State Fair.
State Fair officials made the announcement they will use metal detectors yesterday, following the same proclamation by Summerfest earlier this month.
