GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Green Bay city officials say the Zippin Pippin will be closed for at least two weeks following Monday’s malfunction which injured three people.
In a statement Thursday, the cars from the Bay Beach Amusement Park ride are being shipped to the manufacturer in Philadelphia for inspection and recertification.
No cause for the incident was given after a train returning to the station didn’t stop and slammed into another train. None of the injuries were serious.
State inspectors have been on scene this week. A state spokesman told FOX 11 the work continues but there is no estimate for the conclusion of its investigation.
