GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Governor Walker making a stop in Green Bay Friday afternoon talking about everything from veteran’s services to Britain’s decision to leave the E-U.
Wisconsin’s leader spoke at the AMVETS State Convention reiterating the importance of caring for our veterans.
“We’re not going to rest, particularly those returning home from deployment recently is able to find a job and career they see fit upon their return home.”
Walker says last year Wisconsin had one of the lowest unemployment rates for veterans in the country with an average of 3.6%.
The governor also spoke out on the historic decision of Britain leaving the European Union.
He says they are still going to be a key trading partner.
“We will still have a trading relationship with them regardless of whether they’re in the E-U or not.”
He says the U-K is one of our top trading partners along with Canada and Mexico.
