APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – A house fire in Appleton Thursday afternoon apparently started in a clothes dryer.
Fire crews responded just after 3 p.m. for a report of smoke in the basement and flames coming from a dryer in the 1100 block of W. Harris Street.
The flames were quickly doused in the dryer and surrounding area. Firefighters also used fans to clear smoke from the home.
Two children and one adult were home at the time and no one was hurt.
The fire caused about $2,000 in damage.
