OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – A plane crash, just after 6 p.m. at EAA AirVenture, sent one person to the hospital Sunday.
Dick Knapinski, EAA Senior Communications Advisor, said the person was conscious and alert after crashing the plane on the south end of the north/south runway in Oshkosh.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department says the airport reopened an hour after the crash.
No word yet on the exact cause of the crash.
The investigation into those circumstances continues.
EAA AirVenture is set to open its week-long run at Wittman Regional Airport today.
