GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – For the 19th year, the Taste on Broadway will be serving hungry visitors on Thursday.
“Taste on Broadway is our premier foodie event of the year,” says Ahnna Dexter, Project Manager for On Broadway, Incorporated. “If you love the premier restaurants in Green Bay, this is definitely the right event.”
About 20 of the area’s top restaurants will be offering their favorite menu items, along with local breweries and wineries pouring their specially crafted products. Thousands are expected to attend the event, which shuts down the historic Broadway District in downtown Green Bay.
“We were up against a Packers pre-season game last year,” Dexter says, estimating about 8,000 visitors in 2015. “So we’re definitely hoping for a lot more than that this year.”
Tokens will be available for purchase the day of the event. Booths will be located at the North and South ends of the event. Tokens are like cash, you will exchange money for tokens $1=1 token. Menu items are priced between 1 and 5 tokens.
There will also be live music featuring:
- Main Stage 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. The Dirty Martini’s
- Main Stage 7 p.m. – 11 p.m. Big Mouth and The Powertool Horns
- South Stage 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Unity the Band
Dexter says a new wrinkle this year will be their Taste of Colour, which will happen on the Hubbard Avenue cul-de-sac starting at 8 p.m.
“The whole street gets lit up and then Skaliwags will be serving three different menu items that are paired with a different color,” explains Dexter. “So he’ll have his food and a craft cocktail paired with it to match that color.”
Those will cost 12 token each. You can find out more about the Taste on Broadway here.
