TOWN OF DUNBAR, WI (WTAQ) – A young girl who died in a mobile home fire in Marinette County this week has been identified as 8-year-old Emilee Gill of Dunbar.
Her 38-year-old father Mark Gill is home from the hospital, after being treated for burns and smoke inhalation. The girl’s 10-year-old brother escaped injury.
The fire happened late Monday night in the town of Dunbar.
Authorities said Mark Gill and the two youngsters were in the mobile home when it began to fill with smoke. The home was later destroyed.
After Gill and his son escaped, he tried several times to find his daughter — but he couldn’t.
Investigators say the blaze might have started near a fireplace, but the cause remains under investigation.
