GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Cheeseheads will share in Brett Favre’s Hall of Fame moment after all.
The Packers announced Friday that his July 18th induction ceremony into the team’s Hall of Fame will be shown on the video boards at Lambeau Field — and Favre will make an appearance in the stadium bowl to address the crowd.
Each year, a banquet is held in the stadium’s atrium, where new members of the Packer Hall are inducted. This year, the invited guests — like sponsors and former players — snapped up all 1,600 tickets, which upset a number of fans and Packer stockholders who wanted to be there.
Even Favre himself was bummed, telling a national reporter the stadium should be open for those wanting to attend. The Packers say they’ll do just that.
$4 tickets will go on sale May 12th through Ticketmaster, with a limit of 8 per order. Proceeds will go to the “Favre 4 Hope” charity.
Favre, a three-time MVP quarterback with the Packers, will have his Number 4 retired on the night of the banquet. Another number retirement ceremony will take place during a home game this fall.
