APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – The “Building for Kids” Children’s Museum in Appleton will be closed for a few weeks as they prepare to introduce an exciting new feature.
$2.4 million of renovations are being finished, which include the new Big Rig Depot exhibit.
Museum marketing director Katy Compton explains some features of the exhibit.
“The kids can go in and pretend to drive a truck, there’s going to be an engine that they can run a diagnostic on,” she explains.
Compton explains these renovations were necessary to stay current with changing times.
“The reason we’re doing these renovations is to keep up with the evolving needs of the community,” she says.
One of the individuals taking in the museum on Friday was Matt Sommerfeldt. He says the facility is great for everyone.
“It’s a fun place to bring your kids, especially in the winter,” he explains.
A semi truck will great visitors to highlight the new Big Rig Depot exhibit. The Children’s Museum will be closed starting Monday, September 3 and will reopen on September 24.
