MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – After more than 37 years, a local dispatcher is retiring from her position.
A farewell celebration was held for Shelly Braun Thursday.
Braun joined the Joint Dispatch Center in Manitowoc County in 1980 and was the first dispatcher for the county.
She says she enjoyed facing the challenges of work day every day, “It’s the type of job that is different every day, you never have work stacked up from the day before, it’s always new and different calls coming in each day.”
Braun says the one thing she’ll miss about the job is her coworkers and the relationships she built with them.
