APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – Appleton police have arrested a Grand Chute man that allegedly robbed a liquor store while armed with a knife.
51-year-old Keith McGee was taken into custody less than 24 hours after robbing Memorial Liquor, according to police.
The incident was reported on Monday by a store employee around 6:00 AM after she claimed a man wearing a mask and hat demanded money from the register while wielding a knife.
No one was hurt in the incident and investigators were able to develop a description of the suspect’s vehicle by reviewing traffic cameras.
The driver was located later that day in the 300 block of N. Richmond Street around 11:30 PM and the knife believed to be used in the robbery was recovered, according to police.
McGee was arrested and police are recommending an armed robbery charge.
