TOWNSHIP OF MEEME, WI (WTAQ) – A hit-and-run accident involving a motorcycle occurred Tuesday afternoon in the Township of Meeme according to the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office.
A 58-year-old Kiel man driving a pickup truck hit a 30-year-old Kiel man that was riding a motorcycle at the intersection of County Road M and County Road XX.
The driver of the pickup truck was attempting to turn left, instead of yielding to the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was seriously hurt and flown to a hospital, while sheriff’s deputies found the pickup truck driver 1.5 miles from the crash scene.
The man riding the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The driver of the pickup truck was cited for failing to yield to the right-of-way traffic and arrested for felony hit-and-run with injury.
