GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A room inside city hall was named on Tuesday for the former Chairman of Green Bay’s redevelopment authority.
Room 604 has been renamed in honor of Harry Maier, who passed away in April this year.
He was the chairman of the RDA for 15 years and a member for 25 years.
“It’s terrific, it’s so gratifying to know how many people and how many lives he affected in the city and he loved the city obviously and was able to effect change and would be enjoying this himself, ” said Hal Maier, Maier’s brother, to Fox 11 News.
He also worked for the Green Bay Gazette as a reporter and editor for 22 years prior to retiring in 1993.
