HOWARD, WI (WTAQ) – A fire in Howard on Sunday has resulted in both a single-family home and a garage being determined a total loss.
Crews were called to the 4500 block of Shawano Avenue around 3:30 PM and once they arrived flames started to spread from the garage to the home.
The sole occupant of the home safely escaped, but a pet cat may not have made it out.
Fighting the flames and minimizing damage became difficult due to strong winds and the type of home construction.
It took several hours for crews to vanquish the fire and an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the flames.
