MILWAUKEE, WI (WTAQ) – The Milwaukee Brewers scored three times in the first inning last night and made it stand up in a 3-2 win over the Cardinals at Miller Park.
Jimmy Nelson struck out seven over six innings of six-hit, two-run ball to improve to 9-and-5.
Four relievers followed, with Corey Knebel recording his 19th save.
Ryan Braun, Domingo Santana and Manny Pina drove in runs for Milwaukee, which had lost four of its previous five games.
The Brewers remains two and a half games out of the NL Central lead as the Cubs pounded the Arizona Diamondbacks 16-4.
