GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Local law enforcement is helping kids prepare for the coming school year.
Green Bay Police walked the city’s streets Thursday, handing out backpacks filled with school supplies to students.
Officer Elizabeth Rocque says it’s a chance to connect with the community.
“In that sense of just having that positive interaction. The kids appreciate that they will have supplies and not everybody can afford to get backpacks for the school year.”
The 50 backpacks given out were funded by a donation to the department.
