DOOR COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – One person has died in a fatal Door County crash.
Sheriff’s officials say they were called to Lime Kiln Road in the Town of Gardner around 4:30 pm Tuesday.
Emergency responders say they found a badly-damaged vehicle in an area of brush off the road.
Investigators believe the westbound vehicle went off the road, crashing into a ditch on its south side.
The vehicle reportedly struck a utility pole, resulting in low-hanging wires.
The victim, whose name had not been released at last word, was airlifted to the hospital, where he died several hours later.
Speed is believed to have played a role in the crash.
