OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – The first man charged by evidence from old sexual assault kit tests has a trial date set.
30-year-old Aaron Heiden of Eau Claire is charged in the 2008 sexual assault of a Fox Crossing woman.
The sexual assault kit testing was done nearly a decade after the crime and the DNA profile of the suspect was put in a database and led to a match.
Officials say the two met a bar and eventually ended up at the woman’s home where the sexual assault occurred, according to the complaint.
