GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Wisconsin Republican US Senator Ron Johnson is reacting to a report by the Washington Post confirming a number of multi-million dollar deals between Chinese energy companies and Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden.
Johnson appeared on WTAQ’s ‘The Morning News with Matt and Earl’ on Thursday, saying he’s only surprised it took this long.
“It’s been pretty obvious from the very early disclosures of what was on Hunter Biden’s laptop that it was authentic,” Johnson said Thursday.
Johnson, along with Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley, issued a report on a laptop hard drive connected to Hunter Biden in 2020.
“We tried to warn the American public about the vast web of financial entanglements before the election. We issued our report in September of 2020,” Johnson said.
The Washington Post report detailed a multi-million financial arrangement with CEFC China Energy and Hunter Biden that the Post says illustrates how the Biden family has used political relationships for personal profit.
Hunter Biden received, according to bank disclosures, $3.8 million in payments for consulting services from the Chinese energy firm.
President Biden is mentioned in several emails. In one, Hunter Biden apparently asked for keys to an office he was using for his father and mother.
“There’s really not much new in the Washington Post report,” Johnson said. “And they do a companion piece where they say ‘well they still can’t authenticate the entire disk drive’. They’re still trying to cover up for President Biden.”
The hard drive was given to the FBI after being dropped off at a Delaware repair shop.
