GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Andre Jacque is moving from the State Assembly to the State Senate.
Having just a short window to campaign in, Andre Jacque defeated Caleb Frostman, taking the District 1 Senate seat that Frostman just won months ago.
“We always knew that this was the race that really mattered. This is the four-year term and people turned out when it counted.”
Frostman won the special election over Jacque, but that seat was only good for a few months.
In that time, the Senate was not in session, so Frostman never took part in any legislation after being elected.
Jacque says he ran an aggressive campaign after falling short the first time.
“We had more time to get out and talk individually to folks and it helped that it was a regularly scheduled fall election.
He says constituents in his district can expect the same type of intensity that he had in the Assembly.
“Somebody that is really going to do what is best for his constituents and fight for them, so that is going to continue.”
Jacque won with 54 percent of the vote.
