GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The 30th annual Brown County Give-A-Kid-A-Book campaign kicked off Thursday, and once again, the wives of Packers participated.
Molly Crosby, Aiyda Cobb, Natalie Montgomery, Diane Philbin, Meagan Quevas and Jessica McCarthy are leading the cause.
The campaign asks for the donation of new books that are given as holiday gifts for local children in low-income families.
Molly Crosby, the wife of Packers kicker, Mason Crosby, says this program helps teach literacy to the community.
“If you cannot own a book, your chances of learning how to read or getting that discount ticket go down. But there’s good news because, with the Give-a-Kid-a-Book Campaign, there’s a very well planned campaign to get these kids books and to change the ends of their stories,” Crosby said.
Crosby read a book to those in attendance.
Book collection sites are located at Nicolet National Banks in the greater Green Bay area, all Brown County Libraries and various other locations throughout the community.
