KAUKAUNA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A 21-year-old Kaukauna man is in jail after police say his truck ended up in the Fox River Sunday night.
Police get the call about a pickup truck doing burnouts and squealing its tires near Island and Elm streets around 9:32 p.m.
While officers headed that way, they were told the truck went off the road and into the river near Catherine Street and east Wisconsin Avenue.
The man managed to get out of his truck and police say they found him hiding under a trailer but he tried to get away.
In a Facebook Post Kaukauna Police explain how the man was taken into custody.
“He was subdued by use of a Taser and taken into custody. Kaukauna Fire Department Paramedics transported him to the hospital for medical evaluation of minor injuries sustained in the crash. Following medical clearance, he was transported to the Outagamie County Jail on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting and obstructing.”
A tow truck pulled the man’s vehicle out of the water and officials estimate the damage to be about $8,000.
