APPLETON, WI (WLUK-WTAQ) – Appleton Police is releasing more details from the fatal shooting early Thursday.
Sergeant Dave Lund says charges of First Degree Intentional Homicide and First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety have been recommended against 58-year-old Johnny Scott of Appleton, in connection with the shooting death of 48-year-old Annie Ford of Appleton.
Lund says officers located Ford’s body inside the 3300 block of East Canary Street duplex, which the pair had recently moved into, shortly after 2 am Thursday.
Earlier that night, Lund notes officers responded to two calls from the residence.
In both incidents, officers were told neither individual was physically harmed, with just verbal arguments having taken place.
With no grounds for making an arrest, Lund says officers encouraged Scott and Ford to separate for the night, with alternative sleeping arrangements being offered.
Upon finding Ford, Lund says she was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
An autopsy was conducted in Milwaukee on Thursday.
