MILWAUKEE, WI (WTAQ) – The final Sunday home game of the season was not kind to the Brewers.
Milwaukee managed just three hits in a 5-0 loss to the Chicago Cubs.
Cubs starter Jose Quintana (7-3) went the distance, striking out ten batters.
Chase Anderson (11-4) took the loss for the Brewers, giving up seven hits in 6 1/3 innings of three-run ball.
Hernan Perez, Ryan Braun, and Keon Broxton each recorded a single for the Crew.
Milwaukee dropped three of four in the weekend set, falling to 82-74 on the year, 5 1/2 games back of the first place Cubs (87-68) in the NL Central.
The Brewers are also two games behind Colorado (84-72) for the NL’s second wild card spot.
Milwaukee welcomes Cincinnati to town for a three-game set that begins Tuesday.
