OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – Oshkosh Police is investigating a Friday morning hit-and-run crash.
Investigators believe an SUV took off after colliding with a motorcycle on Ohio Street at West Sixth Avenue around 7:05 am.
Officers say the SUV was northbound on Ohio Street when it made a left turn in front of the southbound motorcycle.
The 32-year-old Appleton man driving the motorcycle and his 27-year-old female passenger from Oshkosh were taken to the hospital with severe injuries.
Investigators say they have taken both people in the SUV into custody, after witness information led them to the 200 block of South Eagle Street.
The 31-year-old Oshkosh man driving the SUV has been arrested on charges of OWI Causing Injury and Hit and Run Causing Injury.
His 29-year-old male passenger from Oshkosh was also taken to jail on a probation hold.
Alcohol appears to have been a factor in the crash.
Authorities say all affected roads have reopened, after being closed for roughly 6 1/2 hours.
