DE PERE, WI (WTAQ) – A local school has received the largest single donation in its history.
The Donald and Patricia Schneider family has given $30-million dollars to Saint Norbert College, with that money going toward the school’s endowment.
The Schneider family, which owns Ashwaubenon trucking company Schneider National, has previously donated to the school.
In 2015, a contribution from the Schneider estate helped St. Norbert establish its business school and MBA program.
Five years prior, the Donald J. Schneider Stadium opened.
Don Schneider was a 1957 St. Norbert graduate, who passed away in 2012. He served on the college’s board of trustees and was a part-time instructor.
