UNDATED (WTAQ) – The Wisconsin DOT and State Patrol will begin cracking down on drunk drivers around the state Friday.
The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign will continue through September 5.
Ashwaubenon Public Safety Commander Tom Rolling says area law enforcement will be out in greater numbers watching for impaired drivers.
“Our goal certainly isn’t to arrest more drunk drivers, our goal is to deter drunk driving.”
Rolling says if you’re feeling buzzed, you’re more than likely over that 0.08 BAC limit and should not drive.
Officials say to use common sense and choose a sober designated driver before you start drinking, take mass transit, a taxicab or ask a sober friend to drive you home.

Last year 190 people were killed and nearly 2,900 were injured in alcohol-related crashes in Wisconsin.
