GREEN BAY, WI (WLUK) — St. Patrick’s Day isn’t until Thursday, but there was plenty of celebrating going on Saturday.
It was an especially chilly day on the City Deck for Green Bay’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade.
People bundled up to see the parade go between Hagemeister Park and St. Brendan’s Inn.
The post-parade activities are always a highlight, maybe more so for many considering the cold.
“We pray and maybe a pint or two and then a friend of mine, we do some Irish music,” said Steve Peterson, a volunteer Irish brigade member in the parade. “We’re going over to the Mona Rose and we’re going to do a little practice session over there as well.”
Plenty of people stuck around downtown Green Bay too. There were Irish dancers and, of course, plenty of pints to go around.
